What will you hang on your GuitUp?

For me, the GuitUp holds one of my most cherished possessions – my mom’s circa-1973 Yamaki acoustic dreadnought guitar.

One of my favorite memories as a kid was curling up on the sofa, watching and listening as she strummed her Yamaki and serenaded us with covers of John Denver, Linda Ronstadt, Carpenters, The Beatles, and more. Those songs, intermingled with my mom’s contagious laughter, were the soundtrack of my childhood.

Fortunately, the Yamaki - and my mom - are still very much here! When I developed an interest in learning to play, Mom let me hang on to her guitar for “safekeeping”. For the next 20 years, it was stored under a bed, on a floor stand, propped against a piece of furniture, and several other precarious locations.
Not so “safe”, if you ask me.

I always wanted to display it on the wall, but the only guitar hangers I could ever find required anchor bolts, and I never wanted to drill those large holes in my walls. (My landlords weren’t crazy about the idea, either.)

Eventually, I took matters into my own hands and am happy to share with you the GuitUp Easy Hanger –

The GuitUp has safely been holding the Yamaki for years now, and each time I see it (and play it!), I’m reminded of the love and connection through music that Mom and I have shared over the decades.
